Community Engagement
Our Community Engagement Ministries provide friendship and support to parishioners and those in our extended community through activities, support networks and special events (see our Events calendar) that connect people together and aid those in need.
Active Adult Group
Our group of adult parish members enjoy participating in social and informative seminars together to enrich their lives and increase parish involvement.

Alcoholics Anonymous
AA is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they my solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Meetings are Wednesdays 7:30 – 9:00 PM in the Rectory Meeting Room (entrance is to the left of the Rectory entrance).

Caring for Friends
This ministry provides meals to our home bound and elderly neighbors. Parishioners prepare meals or assemble leftovers from a family dinner into trays and bring the meals to the church freezers. Dinners are gathered on Tuesday mornings and delivered to Caring For Friends in Northeast Philadelphia. They are then distributed to those in need.

Supplies for Parishioners: Trays/supplies are located in the freezer rooms in the McKeaney Life Center (see “Aid For Friends” door near church side of Life Center) and the back of the church (at the room just in front of restrooms).

Family Promise
This ministry enables our parish to participate in the Interfaith Hospitality Network. We rotate with other churches and synagogues, for a week, to create a homelike setting for displaced families while they set plans to break the cycle of homelessness.
Parishioners and their families host our guests at our Life Center. Volunteers can participate in different ways: prepare meals, socialize in the evening or stay overnight. Support is also needed to set up and break down the accommodations and various other duties.
Volunteer on a regular basis or as your schedule allows — your help is so very much appreciated by these families! (SJN’s rotation is announced in the bulletin and after Mass; sign-ups are made available in the back of the church.)

Good Samaritan
Many people and families are facing very difficult circumstances, especially as the coronavirus pandemic ravishes the employment of more than 36 million people. It may be increasingly challenging to pay a key bill — utilities, rent/mortgage, food.
If you’d like to support the Good Samaritan fund, donations of any amount are appreciated. Please place your donation in the offertory boxes located near each door of the church or mail to St. John Neumann church (memo: Good Samaritan) at 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.

Hospitality
Our Hospitality ministry hosts coffee and pastries after Mass each month, typically on the first Sunday of the month. We offer parishioners a time to gather, meet and get to know each other. Our team also supports special Hospitality events, such as for special youth-focused masses.
We hope you’ll join us the next first weekend of the month in the Gathering Room! (We take a summer break, resuming in late September/October.)

Helping Other Parishioners in Emergency (HOPE)
HOPE helps care for our parishioners in times of need with transportation and assistance to make area trips to the doctor, therapy sessions, banking and food shopping. They also help parishioners during inclement weather.

Healing Ministry
Parishioners are strongly encouraged to call the rectory when someone is home-bound. A priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion will bring the Holy Communion to that person on a regular basis. Their names are also placed on our prayer list for the sick.
